I have a real love for half length sleeves, Fashionable Reader. Sadly, they don't seem all the popular in this day an age. I like the ending at the elbow, I think it's super flattering just to show the lower half of the arm. (Apparently so does Joan from Mad Men, or at least her costume designer.)

Amen to that! I find I am always pushing or turning up longer sleeves to a length suitable for working. I guess it's a holdover from my farm girl childhood.

The black with the green roses and the crazy shoes? I've had that one a while now, that picture is from 2012. The dress is a vintage early 1960s I. Magnin that I think I purchased on Height Street from a vintage shop here in San Francisco 2011 or 2010 maybe? DeleteI wonder if the sleeve length is so flattering because most people's bodies are proportioned to have the elbow start around the waist, so a sleeve ending there draws attention to the waist, especially when one's clothing is also fitted there. At any rate, it looks great on all of these outfits! (I wear long sleeves in winter because I live in a place where the air hurts any exposed skin, but my preferred style is 3/4. I hate having things about my wrists.)
